Gimbal Jr., the latest soft seating design from Hightower Studio, started with the concept that a body in motion might stay at rest a little longer. The original Gimbal Rocker Lounge was created with a gimbal mechanism to help users expel just enough energy to allow for a longer (and calmer) duration of sit. It's been said that this subtle movement can be an effective solution for "fidgeters," those who experience a lack of focus, restlessness, and even memory retention issues while seated for extended periods.

As the industry experienced shifts in user demand as a result of Covid, and users increasingly embraced more of a residential vibe for their seating options influenced by months (years) of working from home, the time was perfect for Gimbal Jr. Hightower Studio's Design Team went to work to answer the market.

With three distinct versions, Hightower's Gimbal Jr. offers specifiers a wide range of options providing limitless possibilities for today's interior spaces: Gimbal Jr. Rocker, with a subtle, gentle, back and forth or side to side motion; Gimbal Jr. Swivel, available in two swivel versions, and Gimbal Jr. Wheeler, with soft or hard casters—the "portable" Gimbal that glides on demand.
